The course of the river Ebro through the province of Tarragona passes very nearby Mas Mariassa. We can follow this river from the town of Móra de Ebre until the Delta wetlands themselves. This path leads us to enchanting places such as the Templar Miravet Castle, Rasquera village, famous for their “pastissets” (little cakes), the “Coves Meravelles” (marvellous caves) in Benifallet; the enormous, modernist wine cooperative of Pinell de Brai; the Fontcalda health resort and finally the “asud” (dam) in Xerta originally built by the Arabs and still used to this day.
Once passed the towns of Tortosa and Amposta, we come to the Delta del Ebro Nature Reserve. Here there are many activities to choose from: bird watching, bicycle hire, boat trips around Alfacs Bay, traditional boat fishing and numerous adventure activities (kayak, banana, elastic jumps…)
You cannot visit Delta without tasting a shellfish lunch or supper!
